Arts and Crafts - ceramic clocks

Ceramics students completed a series of colorful slab built clocks. Themes that were chosen included funky food (breakfast cereal clock), surrealist combinations (the fish in the dog house) and celestial wonders (moon and stars). Scroll down for more pictures..

Sam cuts the hole to allow for the clock mechanism to fit the form

Engobes and underglazes are applied to the leather hard surface.

Mariko attaches a number of slabs together to form the cactus clock

Mariko works on shaping the flattened slabs into a 3 dimensional form.
