Advanced Placement US History
This advanced course is designed to provide students with the analytic skills and knowledge necessary to deal critically with the problems and materials in US History. There is a substantial amount of reading and preparation involved. Students are required to assess historical materials, their relevance to a given interpretative problem, their reliability, and their importance, and to weigh the evidence and interpretations presented in historical scholarship. Goals for this course include developing a thorough understanding of US History, being adequately prepared for the Advanced Placement examination and learning to use the skills necessary for a successful university experience.
