Spring- Hinamatsuri and Ohanami
March is a time to welcome the first signs of spring with the peach blossom festival and Hinamatsuri, the Girls’ Festival.  Ohinasama, the Emperor and Empress dolls are displayed on their stand and the children recreate their own dolls.  We may also make sushi to have a tea party under the peach blossoms.

Cherry Blossoms or Ohanami is a true sign of spring.  We may make obento boxes and have a picnic under the cherry tree in our playground; the older children may participate in a neighborhood walk by the canal to view and celebrate ohanami.
