Some of the Time

Progressing but Not Yet  Meeting Expectations

It is like a completely organized desk, that uses folders for all the papers, every pencil is in a case and there is not a speck of dirt anywhere.

It is like a desk that has the some papers in folders but some are just thrown in. Pencils are scattered about and there are some scraps in there as well. I can find what I want but I have to dig a little.

This desk is a total mess. Papers are crammed in there every which way; books are sideways; pencils, old food, bits of hair bands mixed up with dust bunnies all try to find a spot. I lose things and I can’t find what I want.

There was a ton of planning done before I started. Brainstorming, outlining, spiders, and talking with others.

There was a very clear and interesting topic that ran all the way through what I did. People learned something new!

My ideas were important, understandable and other people could trust that they were true.

It was very clear what was the most important idea and the details that followed were in order of importance.

The details and proof that I used were of really high quality that was interesting and educational.

My transitions between my ideas helped the other person really understand where I am going next.

I had an ending for what I was doing that really helped the other person understand what I had been trying to say.

I did some planning but it wasn’t as full as I needed it to be. Some ideas were really not fully thought out.

I had a topic that I developed although sometimes I talked about something else or it wasn’t as interesting as it could have been. People could follow what I was trying to say but maybe they had heard it before.

My ideas were mostly important although sometimes hard to tell where I got them.

The most important ideas were pretty clear but how the details were important sometimes got mixed up.

I did have details in what I did but I could have used some that were more interesting or more closely tied to what I was trying to do.

I have transitions although sometimes they don’t help the other person really understand what is coming next.

I had an ending for what I was doing but it just kind of sat there.

I did not plan at all or, if I did, I did not follow my plan or use it when I did my work.

I wasn’t sure of my topic at all. I kept changing from one thing to another. I lost the other person along the way a lot. People had to guess at what I was trying to do and it was confusing for them.

There was a whole bunch of things that I made up out of my head without really offering any proof. A reader couldn’t really tell if they were true or not.

Small details all mixed in with what should have been the most important. It was very hard to tell which was which.

I had very little details and the ones I had were not all that great.

I had hardly any transitions. The other person didn’t have any signs about what was coming next!

I had no ending for what I was trying to do. Things just kind of ended
