"It will all work out in the end."  "But, how?" "It's a mystery."

Shakespeare in Love

For me, this quote neatly sums up what I consider to be the essence of my teaching. In my twenty plus years of learning my craft, there has always been an element of mystery surrounding the outcome of what the students and I do together. Granted, there is planning and a great deal of thought given to what happens. But not one of us can predict the outcome of each particular group’s positive synergy. It is our collective spark that makes the mundane— magical. It is what makes our whole educational experience the exciting mystery it is.

This site holds a collection of items which serves as an introduction to the kind of teaching, and design behind, what your child does this year. To find out about me as a person, go to the Learning My Craft section. To find out why I teach as I do, the Philosophy page. Learning Together encompasses all the organizational details needed for the class to run smoothly. Finally, the Articles section contains a plethora of informational pieces I have written both inside and outside of school. For current student projects, please go to The 4-F Main which contains an archive link.
