Biographical Facts
For my explorer research
project I chose to do Sebastian Cabot. Sebastian
Cabot was born in Venice in 1483. He
died in London in 1557. His death
was the cause of stroke. Back then
they said that they did not have the medicine to cure his disease.
Sebastian Cabot was the son of Giovanni Caboto, which is John Cabot.
Sebastian had more then one name. His
real name is Sebastiano Caboto. Sebastian
had never lead any of his own expeditions he had always been just part of the
crew. But he was important to the
crew because he was a map and navigator. His
first expedition he went on was with his father.
He went on it in 1497.
Major Achievements
This paragraph will be
about some of Sebastian's achievements. Sebastian
Cabot tried to prove that there was a shorter way to the Far East.
So, he looked for the Northwest Passage to the Far East and only landed
in Hudson Bay. Sebastian Cabot also
searched for the coast of North America. He
did make it there and claimed it for the king of England. After Sebastian graduated from the navy he was rewarded to be
pilot for Spain. Sebastian also
explored the Rio De La Plata, which may have been a river.
When Sebastian's father died Sebastion stole his fathers achievements.
Country
This paragraph will be
about where he lived and what and whom he traded with.
Sebastian lived in England. He
also explored Spain and stayed there for a while.
In Spain he made important expeditions for the king of Spain. For the King of Spain Sebastian would go to a new world and
bring back riches and spices. He
usually found most of them in North America.
