I’m Late!

“I’m late I’m late! For a very important date! No time to say hello goodbye! I’m late I’m late I’m late!” said Joe a man that can never handle a job. He ran through the house up and down going up and down the stairs looking for things. “My tie, my socks, my shirt, my coat, my….. pants! I need pants. Pants are indispensable types of clothing.” He ran out the door and realized he forgot his shoes! He tried to get inside but the door was locked! “Dang! I forgot my keys inside and it’s an automatic locking door!” He tried finding another way in. He went around the house for back doors or anyway in. He found a ladder against the wall and he put it in a mud patch so it would stay there and won’t fall. He got it and climbed on to his roof. He crawled closer to the chimney and tried not to lose his balance. As he walked closer to it he became closer and closer to falling he sat down on the roof to rest. He checked his watch 9:28 a.m. He was supposed to leave 30 minutes ago to ride the subway! He looked around searching for help. Then his biggest problem came. He saw his boss walking a couple blocks away! And he was the in a place where everybody can see him. He tried to hide behind the chimney but there was no time….. he tried to be as low as possible. He thought he might be able to get to the ladder and hide behind his house before his boss can get close enough to notice. He thought of it. He thought more until he decided it was too risky. But he had no choice… he had to make a decision time was running out! He went onto the ladder and he was in such a hurry he fell of half way down. PLOP! He fell right into the mud. He tried to get up but he was stuck to something sticky at the bottom of the mud. He tried to get back up and he managed to get off the sticky part but his left leg was still stuck. His boss was nearing the corner to his house. He needed to act quickly. He just took off his socks and ran behind his house. His boss came to his house. He saw the mud patch and the socks. He stared at it for a couple of seconds and went closer to Joe’s house. Joe started to panic and went back on working on the back door. Then he remembered that he always kept a extra key under the rug in front of his back door. He got in took off his other sock off and ran inside he ended up tripping. His boss came to his door rang the doorbell. Joe answered talked into a speaker that reaches out to the door and said. “Ummmmm….. please wait a couple of minutes.” He ran to his bedroom and changed into clean clothes and answered the door. His boss sighed and said “Don’t worry there are many other jobs out there.” Joe frowned “are you saying I’m fired?” “well ummmmm….. yes you are getting fired.” “Ummmmm what?” “But one thing I need to tell you before you go to clean out your office. ARE YOU GOING TO BE LATE TODAY?!” Joe woke up in bed wondering what just happened. He looked at his alarm clock 7:30 AM. He sighed in relief as he looked out the window on a lovely Saturday morning.
