“Adventures of
Mark and Claire”

Mark and Claire lived in Paris on Daisy Meadow Street. Their house was small and cozy with just enough room for two. They always wished to have neighbors, but every time they tried to say hello, people would just run away.
Just the other morning, a family moved in next door but guess what? By the next day they had already moved out. This was not the first time it happened.
Last week, before the old neighbors moved away, Claire saw their door open and wanted to see if the tall lady needed an extra hand in unpacking. She stuck her head in to see if anyone was around.
Since Claire could not find anyone, she decided to give them a housewarming surprise by opening boxes and pulling things out.
When the tall lady walked into the room she screamed at the top of her lungs then ran to her husband and said, “Look at all the mess on the floor!” Claire quickly ran back home.
People moved in then they moved out. This was nothing new to Mark and Claire but they could not understand why. They were excited to meet new people but this was making them miserable because they kept trying and trying with the same thing happening every time.
Mark even wanted to share his precious cheese with the neighbors. He loved cheese, especially Cheddar, Swiss, and Cottage. He could smell it from miles away!
One evening while taking a nap and having a nightmare about traps, a sweet smell came through the house and woke Mark up. It was definitely cheese! Mark thought this would be a great time to introduce himself and maybe get invited over for some cheese.
He tapped on the door but no one answered so he decided to let himself in and wait at the table.
Mark did not have the best table manners so when he saw the cheese on the plate he could not keep himself away from it. He thought a nibble would not hurt.
A nibble soon became a bite, which became a mouthful but before he could finish the cheese a shoe came flying across the table!
He then saw a big man coming closer and closer to him so without thinking he grabbed the cheese and ran for his life. After he got home he thought wow these neighbors are very bad tempered.
This time Mark and Claire thought it would be better to greet the new neighbors as they are moving in so they eagerly waited outside for them to arrive.
When the car arrived, a cat suddenly jumped out of the driver’s seat and Mark’s whiskers twitched while Claire’s big round ears shot up! They heard the loud purr and immediately ran for the house with their tails dangling in the back.
Now it was Mark and Claire who decided to move out of their house, which actually looked like a hole in the wall from the neighbor’s side!
