Meeting the Princess

By Georgia LaMacchia

Seoul, Korea. Clap clap clap. I was walking up on stage. I shook the princess’s hand and took a picture with her. But, it was only a dream.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiinnng “mom the phone is ringing.”  I yelled.

“Ok I will pick it up, it’s our wake up call,” My mom replied groggily.

“Georgia LaMacchia” the announcer said into the microphone. This time it was real. I was walking up on stage to be presented! I was in Korea at the OB-PS meeting 2009. I was the youngest member.

OB-PS stands for the Olive Baden Powell Society. This society raises money for Girl Scouts.

On stage the princess shook my hand and gave me my OB-PS pin and members certificate. I was so excited! I was a member of OB-PS.

The princess said “congratulations” and she took a picture of me holding my pin and certificate. It was fun up on stage. Then I went back to my seat.

The next morning around 11:00 I went to the meeting to present a special pin to the princess. As I walked up on stage I gave her the pin. She seemed very happy. I definitely was!

That was a great experience I thought going back to Japan. It was so cool meeting people from Ireland, Switzerland, Nigeria, Malaysia and more. I had so much fun I wish I could have stayed longer!!
