Who can participate?

How does it work?
Students who have written a story submit it to the ES library.  A panel of judges will choose a winner for each category.  These winning stories will have pictures added to them by professional illustrators.  The stories and accompanying pictures will be published in a book.  The book will become part of the ES library collection.

What kind of stories qualify?
There are 2 categories in which students can submit entries.  Click here to read the stories that were submitted in 2009 and 2010.  You can have a look at the published winning stories in the ES library or online at

Anytime!  Stories written during your class time or at home qualify.

Do I have to work alone?
You choose.  Stories can be written by one author or be co-written in smaller or bigger groups.

When does this happen?
Stories must be handed in no later than February 1, 2011.
