The ASIJ elementary Library is a joyful and very lively place. Its wonderful state of the art facilities were fully renewed in the summer of 2004. It houses over 20,000 elementary level library materials available to ASIJ students and their families.
This is an open access library. Library hours are 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. Students are invited to drop in before school, during recess or on a library pass from their classroom to borrow books, magazines or audiotapes. Students in grades K-3 visit the library each cycle for literature enrichment, introductory library skills and checkout. Intermediate students visit the library independently on the pass system as will as visit the library in conjunction with classroom research activities and literature units.
Parents are able to checkout up to 25 items at a time to help promote a literature-rich environment in the home. The loan period for parents is 30 days. If you can't make it to school, just let us know what you need via phone (ext. 293) or email wlaleman@asij.ac.jp and we'll send it home with your child.
