The process will involve three phases Phase A : Individual basic facts research on the Middle East You will research basic facts on a Middle Eastern country you choose. This research will happen in the library over three periods. You will take notes in a booklet that will be given to you. Your product for this part of your research will be the booklet with notes. Grades will be given according to the Middle East Library Research Rubric. There will be three research sessions in the library to complete this task. Phase B : Team work You will have two periods to research websites for information about the questions below. You will make your notes in Inspiration. You will then have two periods two turn this information into a powerpoint presentation. You will be part of a team of four or five members that will present a joint powerpoint to the Council of the League of Arab States. Your team will have four members The archaeologist will research and report on the science and arts of the Middle East.
The anthropologist will report on the rich cultural traditions of the Middle Eastern Countries.
The theologian will report on the rich variety of religions that are to be found in the Middle East.
The economist will research and report on the wealth to be found in the various countries of the Middle East. Additional resource: http://www.geographyiq.com
Each team member will produce a minimum of one and a maximum of two PowerPoint slides presenting the results of his / her research. There will be two sessions to complete this research. Phase C : Making the team Power Point Once each team member has finished the team will get together and decide on a common lay-out for their presentation. There will be two sessions two complete this powerpoint.
Final activity involving presentations by all four groups of their slide show to Mr. Amre M. Moussa and the Council of the League of Arab Sates (all the other students). Mr. Moussa and the Council members will judge the presentation using the powerpoint presentation rubric.
