The Process

Please also refer to Guideline section when working on the process!!

  1. First you will be put into your group, each a different colony.

  2. You will decide as a group what each member will do. Assign one article topic to each member. All of you have to work on writing an article about your Colonies Charter and Rules.

  3. You will research information on your colony and topics for you articles using the ASIJ Elementary Library and the WebQuest Resource page.

  4. Once you find information appropriate for your articles, take notes in Microsoft word.

  5. Periodically meet with your team and go over what each member has found and how your articles are progressing.

  6. Write you articles first in Microsoft Word make sure to keep a bibliography for all your text information and pictures you might collect as an individual or group. DO NOT FORGET to Cite  your Sources

  7. Edit each others articles as a group for punctuation, spelling and content.

  8. Find pictures to illustrate your articles and make sure to cite the source of all pictures used: Clip Art Gallery and Colonial WebQuest Resource

    Create the layout of your newspaper in Microsoft Publisher.
    Your paper needs to be two pages long.
    It needs a title and date of issue.
    An index.
    Borders and columns.
    Pictures.
    All information and pictures cited correctly.
    Use the same font and text through out the whole paper.
     

  9. When completed double check the project rubric to make sure you are on task.

  10. Print out a black and white copy.

  11. Do a group edit for both layout and punctuation and spelling.

  12. Print a color copy for each member.
