Fire and smoke are enemies for the echidna. Other mammals are enemies for the echidna.Cars and trucks hit them when they cross the road. And dingos and cats and goannas eat the young echidnas. If the echidna gets scared it digs down. The male has a poisonous claw. When he is scared he rolls up into a ball.
