Long, long ago
there lived an old couple who didn’t have a daughter. They
were sad that they didn’t have a daughter. Once the old man
went to find a beautiful daughter. And the old woman washed their
clothes. When the old woman finished washing the old man came
back home.
But the old man didn’t find a beautiful daughter. The next day the old woman went out to wash the clothes again, just like yesterday. The old man went to a different place than yesterday’s place. When the old woman finished the old man came back home. Finally he found a daughter! They were so happy that they found a daughter.
They they decided the princess’ name. They decided it was going to be Makiko. One day Makiko got sick a little.
The old couple said, "Do you have a fever?"
"Yes," said Makiko.
Then Makiko went to the doctor. Some of the doctors were closed. The best doctor was open! So they went into the doctor. There was no line. They asked for some beans. They had tons of beans. They gave all their beans. She ate half of them. She became a little better. She at the other half. She became much better.
She said to her parents, "I am much better now."
"That's so good," said mother.
Once they heard a loud stomping. It was an oni. They hid under the table. The oni came in. He saw Makiko. He took Makiko. The couple was crying. He took her home.
The old woman said, "I know we have a daruma we could wish on."
They got it out. They wished that they could get Princess Makiko back. They got a marker. They colored one eye. Their wish became true. They used the same marker. They colored another eye because their wish became true. That never happened again and they lived happily ever after.
