Kendo

by Dave

Kendo represents discipline and fencing technique. Kendo means, "way of the sword." Kendo is for training the mind and body. They use a single edged sword. Kendo players are protected by face masks, chest protectors, thigh quilts, and mittens. In Kendo they use thrusts, stance, and footwork. At the end of World War II Japan stopped Kendo. In 1957 Kendo started again in middle school. Kendo has ten grades and three levels. Higher levels are regulated by the Kendo Association. The association holds Kendo tournaments. Kendo looks like fun.
