Children's Day

by Ryoma

In Japanese Children's Day is called Kodomo no hi. In1984, they changed Boys' Day to Children's Day. In the eyes of the Chinese the carp is the strongest fish because it can swim to the top of the river. Then it will turn into a dragon. On Children's Day the mothers of Japan hope that their son will be as strong as the carp .The carp is known as a hero because it has the fighting spirit in its body. Children's Day is a national holiday. Children's Day is celebrated on the fifth of May. The Japanese celebrate holidays by giving special treats to their families. For example, the adults give samurai dolls or cloth fish on Children's Day. I like to celebrate Children's Day.
