To celebrate Earthweek (April 20 to 24) each grade 2 class from 23 schools around the world would go on a morning observation walk for 30 minutes. They would keep a tally of things such as: number of mammals, birds, insects, reptiles, flowers, trees, etc. They would record the weather conditions and temperature. This data would be sent to the Sawmill School in the U.S. Our class went on several walks that week with digital cameras and also took photos of their site. Their findings and appreciation of nature are recorded in their group reports. If you'd like to comment, please e-mail us at meastman@asij.ac.jp
