Zebra - Babies

By Chris Birck

Babies

Babies can run 15 minutes after they're born. Baby zebras are called foals. Foals have much fuzzier skin than an adult and sometimes foals have brown and white skin instead of black and white skin. Foals weigh about 60 to 70 LBs and stand about 3 ft. tall. Foal's manes are big and can reach to their tails. In 3 years foals can talk to other zebras! Zebras give birth to one baby at one time. Zebras hardly ever have babies.

Communication

Zebras can make noises like whistling sounds and grunting noises.

Protection

The trot of a zebra is fast but the easy gait is for long distances.

Interesting Facts

If 2 zebras stand next to each other ( in opposite direction) they can see every way!
