Zebras- Food

By Dave

Food

Zebras eat what is in season. Zebras may travel 100 miles to find food when it is dry. The Heartman's mountain zebra smells water and digs it up! The zebra's front teeth snip the grass and the back teeth chew it.

Description

No two zebras are exactly alike. The grevys zebra is five feet high. The grevys zebra is the biggest. The grevys zebra has no belly stripes. The foal's manes go all the way down their backs.

Behavior

Zebras press back their ears when they are mad. Zebras get clean by rolling in mud or dust. Zebras never sleep in tall grass. Zebras are usually nice.

Protection

Zebras can out run predators. Zebras stay with other animals so that they can be on the look out. This works because they eat different food.

Predators

Zebras with a hurt leg will often die. They will not be able to keep up with the herd and will be caught!

Where they live

The mountain zebra lives in South West Africa.
