Family

Cheetah families are very close to each other. Cheetah moms protect their babies if a hyena comes she would hiss and swat it.

Endangered

Cheetahs are endangered by poachers. Cheetahs once lived all over Africa.

Food

They hunt in the day but usually in the early morning or night.

Protection

Cheetahs run faster than their predators so they can't get them. They can run as fast as 56 mph. Their claws grip the ground and help the cheetah to turn quickly. Their spotted coat makes them camouflaged.

Behavior

When cheetahs run it looks like they don't touch the ground. To mark their territory cheetahs spray urine on the tree trunks.

Description

The cheetah looks like a leopard. No animal is more graceful than a running cheetah.

Interesting Fact

People used to use the cheetah to help them hunt in ancient times.
