Lions - Description

Behavior

The female does not have such a loud roar. They can leap 35 feet through the air in one jump. To show their power the lions roar. Lions have very good hearing and eyesight. Male lions guard the territory. The male's roar can be heard several miles away.

How They Look

They are 8-10" feet long. A pride of lions has between 4 and 30 animals. Male lions have a mane of hair that grows on the head and neck.

Where they live

Each pride has its own territory.

Babies

The cub lions are spotted when they are born.

Food

Lions are the largest meat-eaters on the African plains. Lions eat wildebeast and zebras.

Endangered

Lions once lived in all over Africa and southern Asia.
