Predators

They don't drink very often because their predators won't catch them. A giraffe's kick can kill a lion.

Behavior

The male giraffe eats the higher part of the leaves and the female eats the lower part of the leaves. Giraffes don't talk very often.

Babies

After an hour when a baby giraffe is born it can stand up. When a baby giraffe is born, it can be six feet tall.

Food

A giraffe can live for a week without water. Giraffes eat early in the morning. They eat 65 pounds of leaves and twigs a day. Giraffes sometimes eat seedpods, flowers, fruit, climbing plants, and even thorns. They eat acacia trees and wild apricot trees. Giraffe eat leaves and twigs.

Description

A giraffe's heart is about 2 feet long. The neck of a giraffe can be 6 feet long. A giraffe's tongue can up to 22 inches long.Giraffes use their horns to keep the branches away from their eyes. Giraffes walk very slowly by moving the legs on one side at the same time. The small thorns cannot even rip their tough tongues. A giraffe can grow to be 18 feet tall. Giraffes live for about 25 years. They have long necks and legs to reach the leaves in the trees.

Facts

In Africa giraffes are often seen with little birds on their back. Giraffes have insects on their fur so birds eat them so the giraffe can be clean. If you went for a walk with a giraffe, you would need to run as fast as you can to keep up.
