Fishing by Brian
What are some
interesting facts about fishing?
Japan catches
the second largest amount of fish. Japan uses large ships with
huge nets to catch fish all over the Pacific Ocean. These ships
can prepare the fish for the store while they are out at sea.
Small boats catch fish of the coast of Japan. Japan has also
started a fish farm system. They raise fish and they sell fish
from eggs then release them into the sea to grow up. They are
caught after they grow bigger. Salmon is raised this way. Japan
is also one of few countries that still hunts whales. Japan has
2,000 fishing ports. The main ones are Nagasaki, Otaru, Kushiro,
Arashiri, Yaezu, and Misaki. Hokkiado is surrounded by the Pacific
Ocean, the Japan Sea and the Sea of Okhotsk, so in villages there
is a lot of fishing.
