Farming by Chris

Where is farming done in Japan?

Less than one sixth of the land is good for farming in Japan. Hillsides, lower mountains, slopes and fields are used for farming. Honshu grows the most rice. It is grown on the sea coast because it has more flat land. Hokkaido has the biggest rice farms in Japan. Only 13% of Japans land is farmed. Still Japan grows a lot of food they do this by using all the space they can. Much is grown even on small plots of land because farmers use fertilizer and modern farm machines.
