Rivers and Lakes by Era

Are the lakes and rivers kept clean? How?
The rivers in Japan are steep and flow fast. The
fast movement of the water helps keep the water not dirty. Japan
has many factories that have been built by water. Sometimes these
factories dump waste into rivers and
pollute them. The large cities built by water have caused the
water to become polluted. To stop the rivers and lakes from
becoming polluted and poisoning animals and people, Japan has
made many strong rules. An environmental agency was made that made
water treatment were plant to clean the water. They looked to
make sure factories don't dump harmful chemicals into the water.
Science centers were setup to measure how clean the rivers and
lakes are.
