What is Kyoto famous for?

It was the capital in about 1600 in Japan, but nowa days it's Tokyo. In Kyoto there is a park that's full of chery trees and a golden palace and old buildings. There is the beautiful Nijo castle, it's a pagoda. Sombo has ponds andrivers. Daigji is five stories high. There are many temples like Higashi Hongaji.
