some interesting facts about Shikoku?
Three percent
of the Japanese people live on Shikoku. Shikoku has no large low
lands. Shikoku was linked with Honshu in 1988 when the 12
kilometer (7.6 mile) Seto bridge. The Yashino river is the
largest river on Shikoku.The population is around 42 million.
Steel making and chemical factories have grown up along the coast
of Shikoku. Farmers grow rice and a lot of fruits also copper
mining is important because people use it to make stuff out of
it. In the north is the Seto inland sea with its hundreds of tiny
islands. On the coastline are citrus orchards while in the south
is the Pacific Ocean. Many visitors come to Shikoku on a visit to
88 temples to worship the great Buddhist saint Koba-dashi so
Shikoku is very popular.The Seto Ohashi bridge goes from the main
island of Honshu to Shikoku. Near the bridge alot of problems
such as noise and pollution have already come up. Shikoku is part
of an archepelogo. Swallow tail is grown on farms near the coast.
The biggest mountains Ishizuchi san. The Yashino river is the
longest river in Shikoku.
