interesting facts about mountains?
In Japan there are 24 active volcanoes.
There is hardly any on the east. Mt. Fuji's heat is 5 degrees on
the top of Mt. Fuji all year long. Mt. Aso is the worlds largest
volcano. Near the Japan sea on the Pacific side are steep
mountains 1, 500 to 3, 00 meters. The highest point in the
Japanese Alps is Kitadakae at 3,192 meters. The highest point in
the country is . Mt. Fuji, a dormant volcano since 1707 that
rises to 3,776 meters above sea level in Shizuoka prefecture. On
the west side of Japan are plateaus and low mountain districts,
with altitudes of 500 to 1, 500 meters.+
