Elephant Seal

The Elephant Seal has a long nose that is very big. The seal can weigh as much as two cars (8,000 pounds). The male Elephant Seal is called a bull and the female is called a cow. It lives in cold places. The Elephant Seal eats squid. They live with large groups. People hunt Elephant seals for their blubber and meat. People use the blubber to get oil for heating. Polar bears hunt seals for food.

Summer

In the Artic summer, the temperature changes alot. In the summer, there is a lot of different kinds of flowers that come out. In the day time it is warm, then the later it gets, the colder it gets. In the summer there is still some snow left and in between parts of the the snow it melts and forms long rivers of of water. When it gets colder, the water forms into ice. In the Artic summer, it never gets dark.

Snow mobile

Snow mobiles are used on snow. Most people drive / ski these motorized sleds. In the Artic, the snow mobiles can be used as a school bus. Sometimes, sleds are hooked to the back of the snow mobile so kids may ride in the sled. The snow mobile can be used in water puddles when the snow melts into puddles of water.
