Zooplankton

Zooplankton (zoo-oh-plankton) is a tiny microscopic little animal that lives in the water. Many animals eat zooplankton. It is an important part of the food chain. It is eaten by animals such as shellfish, fish and squid. They are jelly like creatures which come in many different colors. Here are the names of some of the zooplankton groups: Difflugia pelagica, Tintinnopsia lacastris, Kerratella tecta, and kerratella quadrate. There are hundreds of kinds of zookplankton. If there were no zooplankton, the animals we have now would not be here. Zooplankton feed on phytoplankton, a microscopic plant in the water. If there is a great change of water temperature, the zooplankton can die. Zooplankton live in warm and cold waters.

Zoology

The Arctic would be a wonderful place for a zoologist to study all the different animals. The Arctic gives the zoologist the opportunity to watch many different kinds of animals in their natural habitat. There is so much to learn about the animals that a zoologist could study forever. It is important that a zoologist learn as much as they can so we can save more animals.

Sub-Zero tempatures

In the Arctic, temperatures vary a TON! In Anchorage, it could be sunny, maybe hot. And in Nome, it could be snowy and maybe freezing! It is so cold, they report, if there's ice in the sea. Alaska's Seas don't freeze because of salt content. Alaska has a lot of salty seas, yet the ultra cold tempatures sometimes freeze the seas.
