Aztec Ants

Where it lives: The aztec ants live in Central and South America .

What it looks like: They can be brown or black. They are 2 to about 25 millimetres. They have three body parts. The head, thorax and abdomen. The legs are attached to the thorax. The mouth has two sets of jaws.

Habitat: the aztec ants live in the hollow branches of the cecropia tree.

What it eats: the aztec ants eat syrup, leaves, seeds and fruit which is in the cecropia tree.

Special features : The aztec ants have a nickname called nodes.The aztec ants have interdepentence with the cecropia tree.The aztec ants get food such as:syrup, leaves, seeds and fruit and a home. The cecropia tree can make up to 900,000 seeds befor dead.The cecropia gets protection from the strangler fig from killing it from the ants.
