The Cecropia tree is used in many ways. The cecropia tree is important in the rain forest. In South America the cecropia tree is used as a medicine for many problems. The sap of the cecropia tree is used for medicine for warts, calluses, ulcers, and DiarRhea. The leaves of the cecropia tree is a medicine for liver problems in your body. In Columbia the cecropia's leaves are used to help your heart and during childbirth.All over South America the cecropia's leaves are made into tea and used as a asthma cure. The native americans kill the buds and cook them as a vegetable.
Famers cut down the trees and want to make homes with the bark that they get from the trees. They also want to make a better life. The cecropia tree is choped down to grow crops.Sometimes the farmers grow crops with the Cecropia tree before it grows back up again. When part of the rain forest is cut down the cecropia tree is the first tree to grow back up again. If it wern't for the cecropia tree it would take one thousand years for the other trees to grow back.People are distroying 80 acers of the tropical rain forest every day. They slash and burn the cecropia tree and grow crops with it. Famers grow food and crops for six years before all the nutrients are washed out of the rich rain forest soil.They also cut down the trees to make timber,funiture make money.
