What The Strangler Fig Looks Like

By:Andrew Walters

The strangler fig is one of the tallest trees in the rain forest because it can grow up to 56-100 feet tall. The Strangler fig uses other trees to grow around it so it lives. The strangler fig has twisted roots that are very dark. The roots and vines grow toghther and make lots of big roots and vines. The roots are seperated out on the ground. The roots are very very thick too and tight so that's how they get to replace the tree because it is tight so it cuts off its nutrients and dies. The strangler fig grows all year around because there is so much water and sometimes sun so the fruit grows and grows. The fruit is green when it starts growing. The fruit can be yellow, red and brown. There is a spot on the top that has the most of the leaves. The leaves are narrow and the flower is purple. The strangler fig has a hallow trunk and the wood is light brown and also it can be light gray. The strangler figs has a hollow trunk because the strangler fig wrapes around a tree and cuts off its nutreints and disappears into the air so then it takes its place.
