What the Teak Tree Looks Like.

The Teak tree is a very tall tree in the Rain Forest. The inside color of the trunk is sometimes golden dark brown and sometimes reddish brown.The outside of the bark is grayish white. The bark design is mostly straight but sometimes it is wavy. The trunk is oily and very heavy and it has a bumpy side. The bark is cylinder-like and can be 3 to 5 feet in diameter. The Teak tree can have 20 feet tall buttresses. Buttresses are root's that stick out of the ground. The buttresses are covered with moss and have corners and narrow holes. The Teak tree grows to a height of 45 meters. The Teak tree has very big oval leaves. The leaves grow about 60 cm long and 45 cm wide! There are a lot of white or bluish flowers in small clusters. The drupe fruit is the size of cherries. It has a hard shell and a soft juicy middle and a hard seed in the middle of each fruit.
