How the Teak Tree Is Used
Teak is a valuble hardwood. It is used for many diffent things like boat bulding, furniture, bridges, piers, carvings, pulp, panelling, plywood, decks, floors, cabinets and generl construction of houses. The teak is used for so many things because the teak tree has a oil that bugs or decayed leaves can't hurt. Furniture made by the teak can last for hundreds of years because of the oil. People grow the teak in plantations to sell for hardwood. The teak leaves can be used for thatch and wrapping paper.Thatch is a roof made by leaves. A purple dye also comes from the teak leaves. The teak is very endangered because people are cutting the teak down for wood. Soon the teak might be gone forever. People get a tea from the bark of the teak tree called Pau,Roxo tea. The tea helps prevent cancer. Teak now days is very expensive.
