They used a brush and black ink to paint calligraphy. They painted Chinese letters, or characters. Chinese painting is very different from the painting done in North America and South America. When they paint, they just give you the idea of the picture.
The important people lived in rectangular houses. The rectangle buildings that were found might have been temples. Kings were buried in underground tombs.
They made bronze vessels. They even copied things that were made of wood in bronze. When they made the bronze, they made little nicks in it to look like it was wood. They made pots, three-legged urns, and goblets. They decorated things with dragons and monsters. They got the idea for the dragons and monsters from bears, bulls, and tigers. Later on, no one could make bronze things that were as beautiful.
