Confucius was a very famous person who lived in the Zhou dynasty from 551-479 B.C.He made a new kind of philosophy called Confucianism. It was believed by many people. Another famous man is Lao Tzu which means old sage. Lao Tzu belived that people should not tell you how to behave but act your own good way. Lao Tzu lived in 600-300 B.C. Lao Tzu's belief was Daoism. He also liked to write poems.
Advantages and disadvantages of Confucianism
| It provides stability and predictability; everyone's roles are well defined. | There is no incentive for any kind of change and innovation. | |
| It emphasizes family values. | There is not a lot of freedom for individuals. | |
| Government officials have to pass exams; they are educated. | Not everyone has access to an education. | |
