Sumo has a 1,500 year old history.There are 6 official tournaments each 15 days long.The first tournament is called Hatsubasho.Yoko-zuna is the highest rank.The places where sumo is held are Kokugikan and Ryogoku.The mound where they wrestle is a dohyo and made out of packed clay. Akebono was the first non-Japanese Yoko-zuna.Akebono was raised in Hawaii.
