Once there was an old couple. They lived in the Land Of The Rising Sun. They had no children. They were very poor. The snows came early and were harder than usual. By the time the last day of the year arrived, they didn't even have a grain of rice to eat. "We have never celebrated the New Year without rice cakes", said the old man.
