The Second Graders in Mrs.
Sato's and Ms. Takeuchi's class have been studying about Japan.
They read many different Japanese folk tales, including Hats
For Jizo. After reading the story, Ms. Takeuchi's class
worked on retelling the story in their own words. Mrs. Sato's
class researched different cultural aspects of Japan that tied in
with the story. The classes wrote, rewrote, typed their work into
the computer, and drew pictures that went along with their
writing. After scanning their pictures, the students learned to
import their pictures into their story/research.
