This Japanese Sazae-san comic is funny because the conductor and the passengers go to a lot of trouble to get a man on the train. After he gets on the train successfully, the man’s wife tells the conductor that he was there to see her off.

さざえさんのまんがは、しゃしょうさんとおきやくが、いろいろやって、 男の人を、やっとでんしゃに のせました。そのあとで、おくさんが、みおくりにきただけだといったのが おかしかったです。

This Sazae-san comic is funny because Namihei (Sazae-san’s dad) gets up first that morning. He accidentally washes his face with the steaming broth for his family’s breakfast soup. (He thinks it is the water to use to wash his face.) So he washes and says that it feels good. Then Sazae-san notices that there is no more soup. Namihei hears what Sazae-san has said and notices that he used soup to wash himself.

さざえさんのおとうさんが、さいしょにおきました。そして おなべのおつゆが、おゆだとおもって、かおを、あらってしまいました。さざえさんは、おつゆがないので、おどろきました。
おとうさんは、おつゆで、かおを、あらって いいきもちでした。
