Folk Tales are stories like Japanese tales. Some Folk Tales may have been told before Japanese people have learned to write! Some tales are believed that it really had happened. Yanagita Kunio wrote the series of MUKASHI BANASHI. MUKASHI means long ago and BANASHI means story. The first word usually is MUKASHI. Some best known Folk Tales are Peach Boy which is MOMOTARO, The Wen Removed that is KOBUTORI JIJII, The Tongue Cut Sparrow SHITAKIRI SUZUME, and Kachi Kachi Yama. Some of the titles of Folk Tales end with the word Taro. Taro has two meanings which are a boy’s name or it can mean boy in general. Most of the main characters are either lazy, small or big or born from silly things. Sometimes the rich people become poor because of their greediness or laziness. Sometimes the people become poor to rich by giving to, thanking or listening to the gods. But remember this, they are all magic.
