Japan Studies (1/2 unit)
The goal of this course is to increase understanding of modern Japan. Following a unit tracing the historical developments which have contributed to contemporary Japanese culture, students study a variety of topical issues: political science, economics, Japan-US relations, media, sports, arts and literature. Classroom discussions, research, and hands-on experience further the students’ appreciation of contemporary Japanese culture.
