Television Production is an introductory course designed for students with little or no experience.  The overall objective of the class is to develop in students the ability to use the technology of video to express themselves creatively and articulately.

This is a hands-on class and grades are based on class participation, attitude, and in-class projects.   Throughout the year the teacher will refer to texts and handouts will occasionally be used but students are not required to buy textbooks.

As the semester begins, emphasis is placed on basic camera skills and responsibility.  Students learn how to set up and maintain the cameras, utilize tripods, and smoothly perform pans, zooms, tilts, and other camera techniques

Once students can responsibly and effectively operate cameras, they head to the studio where they experience post-production editing of footage they have taken. All editing is done with the professional quality Avid Express non-linear editing system.  This intuitive and flexible editing suite allows users to assemble and edit their project and add transitions, effects, and title.  They are limited only by their imaginations.
