I was born in Hong Kong on 9/11
(!) 1947 and arrived in Tokyo at the age of 5 months, on 29 February
1948. I have lived here ever since. My father at that time worked for the
Hong Kong government and was sent to Tokyo to open a Hong Kong government
office. He eventually began his own business, in trading and licensing.
He passed away in 1998. I belong to the Class of '65, and attended ASIJ
from kindergarten through junior year. I graduated from Sophia
University. Wish you could promote my books but they are out of print.
"Too Far East Too Long" co-authored with my mother Vivienne Kenrick
(1977). "Gems of Japanized English"(1988) and "More Gems of Japanized
English (1991) were published by Tuttles and went into several editions
but are no longer out there. I am a great traveller: have been in every
area of the world, including the Antarctic, and have visited 161 of the
191 countries of the UN plus a further 87 non-sovereign states. |
