Dianne is the author of 11 books for teenagers and younger readers. Her novels have been shortlisted for various awards and are read in schools within Australia and overseas.

Photographs in the Mud
, with Australian and Japanese characters, was inspired by a research trip along the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea.

It is being used as a reference for international workshops promoting peaceful, 'positive discourse analysis.'  The Kid whose Mum kept Possums in her Bra is currently shortlisted for the 2007 West Australian Young Readers' Book Awards.

Dianne loves traveling and is the Regional Advisor for the International Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

 

She taught the four-year-old class at the Naka-Meguro campus of the American School in Japan  from 1988-1990 with her teaching partner, Fumiko Kagei. Dianne has very fond memories of her time at ASIJ.
