The Process

The process will involve three phases

Phase A : Individual basic facts research on Africa

You will research basic facts on an African country of your choice.  This research will happen in the library and with the Web Quest Resource Page.  You will take notes using word and inspiration.  Your product for this part of your research will be two page report highlighting the key facts of an African Country

You will have research sessions in the library and or internet to complete this task.


Phase B : Team work

You and your group need to choose one country to create a PowerPoint together. You can pick a country one of you used for the above research paper, or pick a new one. You will be given class and library time to research websites for information about the questions below.  You will make your notes in Inspiration.  You will then have two periods two turn this information from inspiration into a PowerPoint presentation.  You will be part of a team of four or five members that will present a joint PowerPoint to the Organization of African Unity.

Your team will have the below roles (you as a team decide who will do what, some teams might have two people working on one role)

1.  Historian :

The historian will research and report on the historical aspects of your groups country

2.   Anthropologist

The anthropologist will report on the rich cultural traditions of you country

The theologian will report on the rich variety of religions found in your country.

Each team member will produce a minimum of one and a maximum of two PowerPoint slides presenting the results of his / her research.

There will be two sessions to complete this research.

Phase C :  Making the team Power Point

Once each team member has finished the team will get together and decide on a common lay-out for their presentation.

There will be two sessions two complete this PowerPoint.

Final Activity - Council Meeting of Organization of African Unity
