Sixth Grade Mathematics at the American School in Japan is taught by Ms. Allen and Mr. Fincher. Our curriculum is centered on the Connected Mathematics Project (CMP), which is a series that covers the middle grades. Project 2061 of the American Association for the Advancement of Science rated the series as number one, with their report on the Project 2061 web site. The U.S. Department Of Education (DOE) Mathematics and Science Expert Panel ranked the program as "Exemplary." The press release is on the DOE site  and the full text of the report is on the Eisenhower National Clearinghouse web site
