Narrator: She Doesn't Belong

Tamara (pointing at Invisible Student)
There she is again? Doesn't she know she doesn't belong? She's not one of us.
Mariko
She's not a part of any group.
Margaret
Who'd have her?
Yuko
Who is she?
Narrator
I don't know, but when Principal Peters was calling off the raffle this morning there were a bunch of names I hadn't even heard of before.
Tamara
Like six graders.
Narrator
Not just sixth graders
Magaret
Maybe she's new.
Narrator
I don't remember her from last year.
Tamara
She doesn't have any friends.
Yuko
I wonder why.
Narrator
It's like she just appeared out of no where.
Tamara
As far as I'm concerned she can go back to nowhere. Before she showed up everything was just fine around here. Now everything is so- so-
Narrator
Weird.
Tamara
Yeah, and everybody's so touchy or something.
Mariko
Go ask her name.
Yuko
No way, you go.
Tamara
No, someone might think I know her. I'd be humiliated.
Narrator (to audience)
Ask any teenager and she'll tell you that the worst fear, the very worst, is fear of embarrassment.
